First Assembly is a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled congregation that has been ministering to Hutchinson, Reno County and south-central Kansas for over 75 years! Although the Hutchinson community and the families of First Assembly have changed and adapted since the early 1930's when we first began, our commitment to communicating the Gospel has not changed. Methods have come and gone, but the timeless truth of God's love, acceptance and forgiveness will never change!

Our purpose at First Assembly is to:

Love God.

We are committed first and foremost to worship Him, and help others connect with Him--through a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ! We strive to pray, plan and prepare our Sunday morning time of celebration around that theme, but more importantly, pray earnestly for God to show up in a very real, meaningful way for everyone in attendance. Although we strive for excellence and efficiency in how we conduct our service, what people really need is to experience God's presence and power in their lives.

Love People.

Secondly, we believe that we need each other! We are designed to connect with God, but we're also designed for significant relationship with others as well. People learn, grow and become the individuals God plans for them to become in the context of relationships. Though we can seat hundreds in a sanctuary on Sunday morning, it's through the connections of smaller groups Monday through Friday where the rubber meets the road.

Serve the World!

Finally, we exist to share with our community, and the world servanthood in the model of Jesus Christ. Whether it's changing a child's diaper in a nursery, or assisting third world congregations with a church building, serving is what we're supposed to be about! Jesus said He didn't come to be served, but to serve and give His life. We are committed to following in His footsteps, and serve our community, county, country and world.
