F.A.Q. (Frequently Asked Questions) on Worship:

Q. What is the style of worship at First Assembly?

          A. We do our best to have a blended worship service.  In an attempt to minister to all ages we sing contemporary worship choruses as well as traditional and modern hymns.  Our desire isn't just to sing all the latest songs; it is to encourage everybody towards genuine worship of our Savior.

Q. Do you use songbooks or hymnals?

          A. No… we use a multimedia projection system to enhance the worship experience.  However, hymnals are available for those that prefer them when the hymns are sung.

Q. What is the lead instrument for worship?

          A. Guitar or piano, although the worship team also includes acoustic and electric guitars, bass guitar, keyboards and drums.

Q. Can other people get involved in worship at 1st Assembly?

          A. Yes… we are always looking for new members of the worship team, including instrumentalists, vocalists, sound technicians, multimedia techs and people who will commit to prayer.  If you are interested in joining, please talk to Pastor T.R..

Q. Why have I heard the worship team referred to as "Undignified"?

          A. The worship team regularly plays at events outside the church and is known as "Undignified".  The name comes from 2 Samuel 6:22.  David wasn't afraid to become humiliated in the eyes of others if it meant that he was showing genuine worship to his God; we feel the same way.  Our heart is to lead God's people into genuine worship whether it be through singing, shouting, dancing, quiet reflection or even somber meditation.
